Inclusion in Action. Guidebook. An Audio-cassetts Tape Tour with Guidebook of Schools Including Children with Disabilities and Those Who Experience Difficulties in Learning.
Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education, Bristol (England).
These two audiocassette tapes provide a tour of six British schools that are working toward inclusion. Three schools are profiled on each tape. A booklet and 12 information cards provide an introduction and back-up information on tape contents, key themes, and discussion points. At each of the six schools, a first-hand account is provided based on the experience of individual pupils. These recordings are "slices" of school life featuring real-life examples of strategies, services, and support for responding to diverse difficulties in learning. The tapes are presented as six radio-style documentary programs, ranging in duration from 13 to 24 minutes. Altogether there are 27 examples which cover inclusive practices at the six schools. The 12 accompanying cards explain key themes and concepts, including accessing the curriculum, shared values and teamwork, accessing the environment, listening to parents and pupils, classroom assistance for inclusion, and specialists skills for inclusion.
