Abu-Sayf, F. K.; Herbolich, James B. – Journal of Experimental Education, 1979
Subtests on grammar, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and translation were developed for screening the English as a second language abilities of students applying to universities outside the U.S. Total test scores, writing ability, and grade point average were used as criteria for evaluating each subtest's validity. Dole, Arthur A.; Baggaley, Andrew R. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1979
Rankings by faculty members of scholarship and profesionalism of doctoral recipients were correlated with age, undergraduate and graduate grade point average, and Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) scores. Results indicated age was negatively correlated, grades were positively correlated, and GRE scores were positively correlated. (JKS)

Lyons, Peter; And Others – Social Work Research, 1996
Despite the increasing popularity of systematic risk assessment models by child protective services agencies, relatively few are empirically based. Kaplan, Charles – Psychology in the Schools, 1996
Obtained intelligence scale scores to predict academic achievement scores on a comprehensive testing program given at the end of grades one, two, and three. Results show that correlations between achievement and verbal IQ are significant at all three grade levels. Findings indicate that verbal abilities are more predictive of academic achievement…

Ayers, Jerry B.; Quattlebaum, Rebecca F. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1992
The relationship between grade point average (GPA) and scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for 60 male and 7 female Asian graduate students in engineering was studied. Walker, Richard N. – Early Childhood Research Quarterly, 1992
A test battery that corresponded to the Gesell Developmental Assessment (GDA) was given to 400 4-6 year olds. A truncated version of the GDA had moderate reliability and predictive power. Experienced judges sometimes differed in their assessments of a child's developmental level and recommendations for grade placement. (GLR)

Hativa, Nira; Raviv, Alona – Research in Higher Education, 1993
A study at Tel Aviv University (Israel) demonstrated the utility of a faculty evaluation form on which the global "overall teaching performance" score can almost perfectly predict the mean of all teacher-attribute items for physics and chemistry faculty. However, for teaching assistants, a linear transformation is needed. (Author/MSE)
