Reviews aspects of a study conducted to compile data concerning numerous features of allied health education programs in Wisconsin. Some of the problems in data collection, retrieval, and reporting are summarized. An experimental program to provide decentralized training and certification for Utah's physician's assistants unable to leave their own communities is evaluated. Original program goals were met, but it was learned that the methodology is inefficient and the program requires more teaching time than most physicians can contribute. (MSE)

Georgia piloted an externship program for dental hygienists that paired selected local dentists with senior dental hygiene students who had passed the national board examination and taken one state board examination.
