Wolfe, Edward W.; Gitomer, Drew H. – Applied Measurement in Education, 2001
Attempted to improve the measurement quality of a complex performance assessment through principled assessment design using the example of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Early Childhood/Generalist examination. Raven, John – Cognitive Psychology, 2000
Summarizes data related to the stability and variation in the norms for the Raven's Progressive Matrices Test (J. Raykov, Tenko – Structural Equation Modeling, 1996
Studied modeling individual latent growth curves of older adults on measures of fluid intelligence by fitting second-order polynomial curves reflecting initial test performance improvement followed by relative stability/drop to the recorded scores of each of 248 subjects. Results suggest substantial plasticity in fluid intelligence of older…

Putnam, Steven H.; And Others – Psychological Assessment, 1992
Difficulties inherent in differentiating practice effects from meaningful change in neuropsychological retest data are illustrated in this case study of a personal injury case. Although the patient demonstrated substantial gains on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Revised, most of the tests given on successive days did demonstrate acceptable…

Critchlow, Douglas E.; Verducci, Joseph S. – Journal of Educational Statistics, 1992
For paired rankings data, a statistical test is proposed to detect whether subjects' posttreatment rankings have moved systematically toward an unknown ranking or set of rankings. Using paired-rankings from 38 ninth graders in a writing and literary criticism course, graphical methods for representing the data are presented. (SLD)

Emanuelsson, Ingemar; And Others – Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research, 1993
Changes in verbal, spatial, and reasoning intelligence among Swedish 13-year olds were studied from 1960 to 1990. Rising verbal scores until 1980 have been followed by a decline to essentially the 1960 level. Spatial and reasoning results have risen continuously. Gender and social class differences are discussed. (SLD)

Ikpa, Vivian W. – Educational Research Quarterly, 1994
Effects of the policy of mandated busing for integration on overall achievement test scores of African-American children were studied with 434 elementary school students in Norfolk (Virginia). Achievement test scores declined after the elimination of mandated busing. School characteristics explained 9% of the variance in scores for all students.…
