Gifford and King debate the value of the bachelors degree in education. Abolition of the undergraduate degree in education is seen as essential to Gifford. King believes that a greater shortage of teachers could occur if colleges don't prepare teachers through their present modes. (MLW)

The International Educational Program at Lock Haven State College is described. Exchange programs are conducted with England, Poland, and Argentina. For education majors, a one-way exchange program provides the opportunity to do half of their student teaching abroad. The college has been host to administrative interns from many countries. (MLW)

The output of education degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate levels between academic years 1972-73 and 1985-86 was examined. The decline was most precipitous at the undergraduate level and had the least impact at the doctorate level. (MLW)
