A Family's Guide to Early Intervention Services in Washington State

The primary purpose of this guide is to provide families with an overview of the Washington State Department of Early Learning, Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) program. It provides general and important information about the statewide ESIT program, including a listing of parents' rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part C. A complete and more detailed description of the procedural safeguards/parent rights are provided in a separate document called "The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C Procedural Safeguards (Parent Rights)." A glossary of terms is included. [The Family Guidelines Workgroup, a committee of the State Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC) developed this booklet.]
