Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reviews scientific evidence to determine which school-based policies and practices are most likely to improve key health behaviors among young people, including physical activity and healthy eating. In this document, the CDC identifies ten strategies to help schools prevent obesity by promoting physical activity and healthy eating. The strategies cover building a strong and healthy foundation and taking action in school. User-friendly tools and resources (including URLs for accessing them online) are provided throughout to help schools implement the strategies.
