For busy library media specialists, booktalks are an easy way to tempt reluctant readers and guide frequent readers in finding what they want to read. This collection of over 150 booktalks based on the best-of-the-best award-winning books for grades 9-12, with many taken from the American Library Association and International Reading Association's recommended reading lists. The booktalks can be completed in 1 or 2 minutes, and include suggestions for integrating the books into the classroom curriculum. A single booktalk can be shared with a student in the hallway, or a planned booktalking session can be done in the classroom, accompanied by a book truck. Within a few minutes, numerous booktalks can be shared and books checked out.
