Provided is a rationale and introduction to the lessons, along with unit goals, materials, time required, suggested sequence of activities, small group roles, grade levels, subjects, equipment needed, and icons. Lessons included in the unit are: (1) "Economic Interdependence"; (2) "The Process of Trade"; (3) "The Benefits of Trade"; (4) "The Problems of Trade"; and (5) "The Future of U.S.-Japan Relations." Handouts and primary source documents have been provided with each lesson to present students with a range of perspectives on the topic being studied.
