This curriculum guide presents the English Language Arts curriculum for grades 9-12. The guide is based on an interim guide issued in 1983, and incorporates the suggestions of those teachers who field tested the interim guide. The first section, an overview, discusses rationale, goals for the teacher, objectives for the student, program framework, implementation, and evaluation. The research basis for the curriculum is described in the second section. The following sections detail the curricula for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12, as well as for grade 12 elective credits. A 59-item bibliography and a four-item annotated bibliography for teachers conclude the guide. (SR)
