Pastor as Shepherd of the School Community.
Gilbert, John R.
This publication completes the series that focuses on the five groups of persons involved in the educational "ministry" of the Catholic school. Based on a survey of pastors and diocesan and archdiocesan superintendents of concerns related to the pastor and his role within the school community, this essay discusses seven areas of pastoral concern regarding the school. Financing the school is one of the pastors' concerns. Three others touch on relationships: working with the principal, relating the school to the total parish community, and working with parental groups and boards. Two other interests involve research: pastors are concerned about religious education trends and current research on Catholic education. A seventh area of interest is that of worship with children.
