Recreation For the Homebound Aging; Trainer's Manual and Resource Guide.
Labanowich, Stanley; And Others
This manual for trainers provides a suggested course, along with background programming information, for personnel delivering recreation services to the homebound elderly. After assessing current needs, steps involved in the development of a homebound recreation program are considered along with agency administrative concerns. The actual planning and organization of a training program includes a consideration of both the program's purpose and the various types of agencies that might find this program useful, as well as such concrete items as local resources, a sample training schedule, training methods and evaluation. The training program itself should cover the homebound elderly's needs and characteristics, the agency service delivery method, an orientation to the value of recreation, program assessment, how to conduct an activity as well as modify and adapt it, various resource materials, and general instructions for the agencies. An assortment of forms and resources are included. (LS)
