Foorman, Barbara R.; Petscher, Yaacov; Schatschneider, Chris – Florida Center for Reading Research, 2015
The Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) Reading Assessment (FRA) consists of computer-adaptive reading comprehension and oral language screening tasks that provide measures to track growth over time, as well as a Probability of Literacy Success (PLS) linked to grade-level performance (i.e., the 50th percentile) on the reading comprehension…

Kraemer, Helena Chmura – Psychometrika, 1979
Coefficient Kappa is generally defined in terms of procedures of computation rather than in terms of a population. Here a population definition is proposed. Factors influencing the magnitude of Kappa are identified. Strategies to improve reliability are proposed, including that of combining multiple unreliable diagnoses. (Author/CTM)

Vegelius, Jan – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
One argument against the G index is that, unlike phi, it is not a correlation coefficient; yet, G conforms to the Kendall and E-coefficient definitions. The G index is also equal to the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient obtained from double scoring. (Author/CP)

Willson, Victor L. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1980
Guilford's average interrater correlation coefficient is shown to be related to the Friedman Rank Sum statistic. Under the null hypothesis of zero correlation, the resultant distribution is known and the hypothesis can be tested. Large sample and tied score cases are also considered. An example from Guilford (1954) is presented. (Author)

Gati, Itamar – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
This paper examines the properties of the Item Efficiency Index proposed by Neill and Jackson (1976; EJ 137 077) for minimum redundancy item analysis. (Author/BW)

McIntire, Sandra A.; Miller, Leslie A. – SAGE Publications (CA), 2006
The second edition of "Foundations of Psychological Testing: A Practical Approach" is a text for undergraduate students new to the field of psychological testing. Using a conversational format, the authors aim to prepare students to be informed consumers as test users or test takers. Features new to the second edition include: (1) New Content; (2)…

Evans, Larry D. – Learning Disability Quarterly, 1996
This article provides the equations necessary to derive a single composite score based on two achievement scores measuring the same discrepancy area in students with learning disabilities. Also provided are the equations necessary to determine the composite score's reliability and its correlation with an IQ score. (CR)

McLarty, Joyce – 1982
Educators designing procedures for identifying students as learning disabled are faced with serious technical difficulties. A student with a learning disability is one who "has a severe discrepancey between achievement and intellectual ability" in one or more designated areas. The methods of quantifying achievement, intellectual ability,…
