Finding the Right Therapist.
Potts, Frank L.
This handbook was written from a natural, non-drug oriented approach to psychotherapy and counseling and is intended to help individuals in selecting a therapist. The role of counseling and psychotherapy is described, possible benefits from therapy are listed, and characteristics of good therapists are considered. Developing a list of potential therapists, making initial contact with a potential therapist, and a first interview with a therapist are described. One chapter presents brief case examples to illustrate the range of work that can be done by therapists. Other chapters examine the uses and abuses of drugs and list questions and answers about therapy. (NB)
