A Resource Guide to Habilitative Techniques and Aids for Cerebral Palsied Persons of All Ages.
High, Elizabeth Codman
The book presents a comprehensive resource guide to habilitative techniques, aids, and equipment for cerebral palsied persons of all ages. The guide is divided into seven sections, which cover the following areas: an introduction (which deals with general concerns, such as established treatment techniques and attitudinal concerns); positioning and seating; feeding; dressing; hygiene (including dental care, bathing, and toileting); household and community involvement (including meal preparation, shopping and other community skills, sexuality, transportation, and recreation); and general resources (which lists addresses of frequently mentioned suppliers and publishers, along with some of their offerings). Each section, with the exception of the one on general resources, includes preliminary text to help the reader in selecting appropriate resources, which are then listed and briefly described. Line drawings of all equipment are also provided. (DLS)
