This is a book to help women who are thinking about entering or returning to college after spending several years as housewives and/or volunteers in their communities. The descriptive materials included will tell in general terms how the process of accrediting homemaking and volunteer experience might work: the skills that might be learned from different kinds of experiences, the information that colleges will look for in awarding credit, the kinds of credit that might be awarded, the costs involved, and some of the problems that might be encountered. The workbook section is a guide for evaluating one's own experiences and trying to obtain credit for them. Appended are: "I Can" competency lists; Catalyst National Network of local resource centers; directory of brokering programs; and a list of colleges that are members of the Council for the Advancement of Experiential Learning.
