Conservation of energy and resources, recycling and reprogramming of excess school space, coordination and co-programming of human service agencies, and efficiency and economy are among the reasons why interagency programs share space, staff, and other resources. Citizens, professionals, agency executives, and elected officials are recognizing that cooperation must take place if we are to provide effective service levels within a reasonable range of costs. Interagency projects that share school facilities provide prime examples of the expanded service, with improved cost benefit ratios, that is possible through coordination and cooperation among agencies. This publication is based on the premise that sharing is basic in interagency programs and that conservation of energy and resources is both a proper and attainable objective. Its subject matter covers the elements and processes of creating interagency linkages and projects as well as the leadership style of the individuals, the "enablers," who are instrumental in creating these linkages and projects.
