This manual provides a vehicle for women and others to organize and promote parttime jobs for themselves, and is also designed to be of interest to anyone who wants to learn about the shared job concept. It is organized as an instructional module which can be used as the basis for a workshop. The introduction section includes desired outcomes for participants and a brief suggested outline for a workshop. An exercise is included in each section to reinforce key concepts and to allow participants to apply these concepts to their own situations. Background information on job re-structuring is provided to assist individuals and employers. The manual is organized so that a workshop leader can read through the module and select the information to present and structure a workshop to meet the needs of the particular group. The five major sections are I. Introduction, II. Background, III. Helping People Help Themselves, IV. Let's Go Out in the Real World--Strategy for Employer Contact, and V. Information Resources.
