How to Develop and Administer a Corporate Scholarship Program.
Council for Financial Aid to Education, New York, NY.
Large numbers of students and their families find it impossible to finance a college education at the college of their choice, as the cost of attendance goes ever higher and inflation takes its toll. Corporations provide an estimated $35 to $40 million annually in undergraduate scholarship aid. To update and expand the available information on corporate scholarship programs, questionnaires were mailed to a selected group of companies and company foundations requesting details of their programs. Responses were received from 32 (17 companies and 15 company foundations) which together administer 120 different scholarship programs with an annual value of around $6 million. Responses give information on how to plan, administer, publicize, evaluate, and review a corporate scholarship program. Also given are the objectives of and some guidelines for a corporate scholarship program. (Author/KE)
