This culture game is an adaptation of "Sovietiquette," developed by Donald K. Jarvis. It deals with the everyday culture and basic geography of Spanish-speaking countries, and is designed as reinforcement for previously presented cultural material. The game, written in English, is intended to teach the middle school student correct responses to cultural stimuli he might experience in a Spanish-speaking country. The game includes 67 multiple-choice questions on the following topics: dating and leisure time, eating and drinking, friendships and family, dress, gestures and the home. Questions should be cut apart into cards to be handled individually. An answer sheet provides the correct answers with short explanations. The game board is a map of the Spanish-speaking world, and playing tokens are buttons or homemade pieces. Players move the tokens around the map as they answer the questions correctly. (CHK)
