Intended for the regular elementary classroom teacher serving learning disabled children, the activity guide provides suggestions in the areas of motor development, visual perception, auditory perception, and language development. Motor activities are grouped into the following categories: body image, balance, fine motor coordination, directionality, gross motor coordination, and activities of the Purdue Perceptual Motor Survey. Visual perception is considered in terms of visual reception, visual sequencing and directionality, visual memory, position in space, constancy of shape, figure-ground discrimination, and visual association. Aspects of auditory perception for which activities are provided include auditory awareness, figure ground perception, auditory reception, auditory discrimination, and auditory sequential memory. The final section, on language development, includes suggestions for improving verbal expression, the normal development of speech, written expression, and manual expression.
