The following course outline has been prepared as a guide to help the student develop the skills and understanding to succeed in the broad field of data processing. A prerequisite to this course is Programming and Operations Lab 2. The class meets 2 hours per day for 90 clock hours and is made up of nine blocks of instruction (orientation, software systems, Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL) Language Structure, COBOL Programming language, table handling, segmentation, COBOL compiler, accessing and processing techniques, and a Quinmester posttest) which are broken down into several units each.
