The first five sections of the guide include course guidelines, course description and broad goal statement, behavioral and skill objectives, course content, learning activities, and teaching procedures. The guide also includes evaluation checklists and a bibliography. The objective of the course is to increase the endurance of the student, improve his ability to care for himself while in the water, introduce him to additional coordinated movements, and motivate him to continue his water safety training.
