The focus of this textbook is anatomy, physiology, and hygiene for schools, colleges, and general readers. It is believed to be a fair exponent of physiological and hygienic knowledge at the time of publication. Throughout its pages the lessons of moderation are taught in connection with the use of each part of the body. The subjects of food, and of the relations of the skin to the various parts of the body and to health, are more thoroughly treated of than is ordinarily the case in such works.
