Implementing Career Education at the Elementary School Level. Missouri LINC.
Boyer-Stephens, Arden, Ed.; And Others
This guide was developed to help counselors and teachers infuse career education into the elementary school curriculum in Missouri. The guide is organized in eight sections. The first section introduces the idea of career education, traces its history, and lists the Missouri core competencies and key skills related to vocational education. The second section discusses infusing career education into the elementary curriculum. Section 3 suggests activities for teaching five career education skills: decision-making skills, self-awareness, human relationships, vocational/academic skills, and independent living skills. Sections 4 and 5 discuss the counselor's and parents' roles in career education. Section 6 suggests funding sources for career education projects, and section 7 provides a list of publishers of career education materials. The final section lists 45 references. (KC)
