Fun Food Experiences for Preschool Children with Handicaps.
Mosiman, Joyce; And Others
The manual includes lesson plans and suggestions for introducting handicapped children to good nutrition through enjoyable activities. Special considerations for specific types of handicaps are briefly noted (including safety considerations for children with physical disabilities). Each lesson is organized according to purpose, teacher objectives, materials needed, program preparation, and related activities to reinforce class objectives. Many activities involve the use of a puppet. Lessons touch upon such topics as food sources, food growth, planting, making a tossed salad, yogurt and fruit, and types of potatoes and how they grow. A methods section presents guides on gardening and planting techniques. (CL)
