Consumer Education for Adult Groups: Presentation Plans and Learning Activities for Use by Financial Counselors.
Forgue, Raymond E.; And Others
Five topic areas in consumer education are provided in this manual developed for use by financial counselors in conducting ten one-hour educational sessions for adult groups. The session titles are the following: (1) The Internal Money World--The Individual, The Family, and Money; (2) Effective Money Management; (3) Effective Credit Management; (4) The External Money World--The Marketplace; and (5) Sharpening Buying Skills. Each section begins with a list of objectives and competencies and a brief presentation outline. This is followed by several pages of background material designed to provide the session leader with basic information needed to conduct the program. The last part contains one to three one-hour program plans providing a set of activities for the various topics discussed in each section. In addition to the program plans contained in each of the five sections, a one-hour motivational session (motivation to manage finances) is included, which is designed to be used as an introduction to the session.
