An orientation manual from Nova University of Florida is presented that is designed to introduce the regional student to the school's field-based doctoral program. The manual contains information on a chronological sequence of activities from admission to graduation including core seminar and specialization seminar syllabi, practicums, housing/transportation, intensive summer sessions, materials needed, and graduation requirements. Background information covering programs for the Higher Education Field-Based Ed.D. program; pointers about adults as learners; the external degree; and traditional and non-traditional tertiary education orientation programs is also provided. The manual's appendixes provide the new student with various forms and other information to help him/her adjust to the new surroundings and obtain all the necessary materials. Information includes instructions for registration and payment, a textbook order form, a sample practicum proposal and plan of action worksheet, a university map, and information on various support programs available to the student.
