This document articulates the goals and objectives of the middle school guidance program in Orange County, Florida Public Schools system. Professional roles and responsibilities are discussed, as well as program implementation. These goals to assist students are listed for the middle school guidance program: (1) understanding the school environment; (2) understanding self and others; (3) understanding attitudes and behaviors; (4) understanding decision-making and problem-solving; (5) understanding interpersonal and communication skills; (6) understanding school success skills; (7) career development and educational planning; and (8) understanding community pride and involvement. Objectives are listed for each of the eight goals for grade levels six, seven, and eight. Thirteen forms are provided, including those for the annual guidance plan, needs assessment, and guidance activities report. Unit outlines are provided for suicide prevention; loss and grief; teenage pregnancy prevention; drug abuse prevention; child abuse prevention; and motivation. (ABL)
