Enrichment activities for fifth-grade mathematics are presented. They are intended to be a continuation of the program started in the fourth grade. Some of the activities reinforce principles taught in the regular program; others introduce new concepts to challenge students. The activities are divided into the following categories: number pictures; tic-tac-toe word problems; logic puzzles; crossnumber puzzles; mathematical word search; metric measurements; coded computations; suppressed digits; magic squares; graphing; geometric shapes; spatial perception; word problems (advertising puzzles); finding the square root of a number; patterns; base ten; base five; base two; and number sense (multiplication and division).
