This booklet was written for Vietnamese adolescents who are living with American families. The booklet describes, in both Vietnamese and English, the structure and mores of American family and social life. Concerns common to teenagers are also discussed. Among the topics addressed are: school; typical weekdays and weekends; forms of address; friendship, dating and courtship; dealing with anger and loss of face; trust; slang and idiomatic expressions; phone calls; table manners; and smoking.
