A study was conducted to determine if there was a significant mean difference in achievement, as measured by the Advanced Test of the Graduate Record Examination or the Field Test of the Undergraduate Assessment Program, between six departments at the main campus and six departments at the extension campus of Florida Southern College. The relationship between the Advanced Test of the Graduate Record Examination or the Field Test of the Undergraduate Assessment Program and the cumulative grade point averages of students at the main campus and the extension campus was examined. The study also determined if there was a significant mean difference in scores on the Area Test of the Undergraduate Assessment Program between sophomores at the main campus and sophomores at the extension campus. On the Advanced Test of the Graduate Record Examination, the biology department at the extension campus had a significantly lower mean score than the biology department at the main campus. The extension campus had a significantly higher mean score than the main campus in natural science and social science on the Area Test of the Undergraduate Assessment Program. Results also indicated that the political science department at both campuses and the biology department at the extension campus did not have correlations between grade point average and scores on the Advanced Test of the Graduate Record Examination that were significant.
