This document consists of 11 consecutive issues of the newsletter "Access," published across a four-year period. "Access" presents information on public policy and research of interest to school-based health programs (SBHC) for children and youth. The major topics covered by the newsletters are as follows: (1) a conference, "Breaking New Ground," in Washington, DC to establish a national movement to support improved health services for children through school-based health care (Summer 1995); (2) states broker relationships between school-based centers and managed care plans (Fall 1995); (3) promoting team work among health center staff, national centers funded to support school mental health programs (Winter/Spring 1996); (4) Louisiana's school-based health centers, report on the conferences of the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (Summer 1996); (5) growth of school-based health centers, hospital sponsored SBHCs, the Making the Grade Web Site (Fall 1996); (6) evaluation of SBHCs, teens' use of SBHCs and health maintenance organizations, and partnerships to care for uninsured children (Spring 1997); (7) community planning for SBHCs, public relations for SBHCs (Summer 1997); (8) insurance expansions and SBHCs, funding comprehensive SBHCs, dental care in SBHC (Fall 1997); (9) exploring the evoluation of school-based health centers (Winter 1998); (10) local funding for SBHCs, the Balanced Budget Act and managed care (Spring 1998); and (11) accreditation of SBHCs, results of the Making the Grade User Survey (Fall 1998).
