This volume of newsletters addresses issues related to the treatment and prevention of medical emergencies in the wilderness. Each issue includes feature articles, book reviews, product reviews, letters to the editor, notices of upcoming wilderness conferences and training courses, additional resources, and general information relevant to medical services and outdoor activities. Feature articles cover legal issues for the wilderness care provider, first aid for children, animal diseases communicable to humans, preventing skin cancer, items to include in first aid kits, risk management incident reports, and principles of wilderness emergency medical services.
