Included in this document are five issues of "The Social Science Teacher," the official journal of the Association for the Teaching of the Social Sciences. All levels of education are treated. One issue examines a variety of topics including Marxism and education, the High School Geography Project, problems in teaching sociology, social studies in New Zealand, minority groups, and political education in the colleges. In a second issue articles present the status of social studies education in the United States and discuss Man: A Course of Study, and the Manchester Oxfam Project. Social studies and the gifted child are also discussed. Another issue contains many articles on the topic of political education. A fourth issue treats the topic of race relations and the multi-cultural curriculum. Articles present an Asian view of multiracial education, examine race and sociology textbooks, and discuss the problems and effects of teaching about race relations.
