Psychoeducational Management of Disruptive Youth. Treatment of Delinquency Series, Chapter 8.
Dembinski, Raymond J.
The eighth part of a 10-part series, this report was compiled by the Educational Development Center at Wilkes College. The series deals with various aspects of the treatment of delinquents and is intended as a summary of research findings in each of the areas treated. Each report was prepared by a scholar-practitioner and is presented in a way that will be of value to professionals who deal both directly and indirectly with the treatment of delinquent youth. The report is, in fact, one manuscript of 627 pages; however, to make it more easily used, it is published in 10 separate parts. A detailed table of contents for the entire series is presented at the end of each part. This part deals with the psychoeducational management of disadvantaged youth. Under the two broad headings of"Client-centered therapies" and "Milieu-oriented therapies" it offers practical discussions of a number of standard therapeutical approaches. Several model programs are also described. (Author)
