This issue of "Legislative Review" takes a look at the news in higher education from January 10 to 21, 2011. This Legislative Review reports that: (1) The 11 North Dakota University System campuses provided testimony on HB 1003, the University System budget bill, Monday through Thursday, January 17-20, 2011; (2) SB 2056, a bill to establish an electronic portfolio pilot program, passed out of Senate Education on a "do pass" vote of 7-0 January 17; (3) HB 1128 and HB 1129, two bills dealing with regulation of private post-secondary institutions, were heard in House Education January 12; and (4) SB 2133, a bill authorizing retailers to seize false IDs used to purchase alcoholic beverages, was heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee January 17. Lists of bills failed this week and bills on the week three agenda are also reported.
