Simmons) deals with deafness in terms of etiology, language and communication development, current educational trends, and identifying behaviors. A brief history of deaf education is outlined in "The Multihandicapped Hearing-Impaired Child--Where He Has Been and Where He Is Now" (E. Shroyer); and a final paper, "The Blind Multihandicapped Child" (A. Galloway), offers suggestions for educators which include having a good background in motor development. (SBH)
