The objective of this workshop was to prepare recommendations to the Government of Pakistan on a vocational guidance system which would be geared to the needs of the country, while bearing in mind the inevitable constraints on the resources and personnel which could be made available in a developing economy. Discussions centered on six working papers presented by consultants. The consensus was that an effective guidance system would require a joint effort by schools, training institutions, commerce, industry, and the community, with federal and provincial government support. A nine-point series of recommendations is presented, as well as texts of speeches and working papers from the conference. (Author/BP)
