New Pedagogical Challenges in the 21st Century: Contributions of Research in Education
Bernad-Cavero, Olga, Ed.
IntechOpen
The societies of the twenty-first century are subject to social, cultural, political, and economic changes. In this context, the school is asked to educate the future citizens in the present. To respond to this kaleidoscopic reality, the school is immersed in a pedagogical revolution. In this book, the reader will find a selection of avant-garde research works from different disciplines and contexts, which have their epicenter in the school and in the faculties of education. New issues in pedagogy and education, and new roles of teachers and students, are discussed in a global and diverse context. And new methodological and formative proposals are also proposed to build the ideal school and the ideal teacher, from the initial and continuous teacher training. This book contains the following chapters: (1) Pedagogy of the Twenty-First Century: Innovative Teaching Methods (Aigerim Mynbayeva, Zukhra Sadvakassova, and Bakhytkul Akshalova); (2) Technology-Mediated Pedagogies for Skill Acquisition toward Sustainability Education (Ajitha Nayar Krishnakumaryamma and Srikirupa Venkatasubramanian); (3) Inclusive Schoolwide Pedagogical Principles: Cultural Indicators in Action (Lindy Abawi, Susan Carter, Dorothy Andrews, and Joan Conway); (4) Intercultural Education in Poland: Experiences, Problems and Prospects (Ewa Ogrodzka-Mazur); (5) Education (Bildung) for Values (Zdenko Medveš); (6) Precursors of Decolonial Pedagogical Thinking in Latin America and Abya Yala (Carlos Renato Carola); (7) The Practice Architectures of Pedagogy: Conceptualising the Convergences between Sociality, Dialogue, Ontology and Temporality in Teaching Practices (Christine Edwards-Groves); (8) Teacher Pedagogical Choice (Peter Burridge); (9) Large Courses at Universities: Criteria for Teacher Action (Oscar M.
