This 2-volume set contains 10 papers, 5 in each volume, that review and evaluate findings from the Youth Research and Technical Assistance Project, whose purpose was not only to explore studies and evaluations related to youth training and employment programs but also to provide a broader synthesis of evidence, findings, and research from related fields and disciplines. The first volume contains the five papers on program services and techniques. The second contains the papers on program governance and management, and youth and the labor market. Johnson and Michelle Alberti Gambone); (5) "Schools-to-Work Transition: Failings, Dilemmas and Policy Options" (Richard H. de Lone); (6) "Coordination, Collaboration and Linkages" (Lawrence Neil Bailis); (7) "Performance Standards and Performance Management" (Alan Melchior); (8) "The Mission and Structure of National Human Resource Policy for Disadvantaged Youth: A Synthesis with Recommendations" (Andrew Hahn, Evelyn Ganzglass, and Gloria Nagle); (9) "Youth in the Nineties: Recent Trends and Expected Patterns" (Robert I. Lerman); and (10) "Youth and the Labor Market in the Nineties" (Harry J. Holzer). Each paper offers its own extensive references in some cases also appendixes. In addition, both volumes include a substantial bibliography that lists the extensive literature reviewed in the course of the project. (JB)
