The document is intended to help individuals, agencies, and states seeking information on supported employment for persons with disabilities. An introductory article (by Zana Lutfiyya, Pat Rogan, and Bonnie Shoultz) titled, "Supported Employment: A Conceptual Overview," describes supported employment as an alternative to sheltered services and competitive employment and suggests implementation strategies including payment mechanisms. The next two articles--"From Sheltered Workshops to Supported Employment" (Michael Kennedy) and "Tori Gets a Job" (Jo Scro and Beth Teelucksingh)--describe personal experiences in supported employment. Next, an annotated bibliography presents 45 print resources on supported employment. Citations provide bibliographic information, abstracts, and availability information.
