What Research Says to the Science Teacher. ICASE Yearbook Number 2.
King, Winston, Comp.; Holbrook, Jack, Comp.
There is always the possibility that educational research does not result in developments within the classroom. This yearbook attempts to address that situation by making teachers more aware of what research exists. It contains a collection of articles which deal with such topics as: (1) new teaching strategies; (2) the theoretical background of student reasoning in science; (3) scientific diagrams; (4) girls' and boys' attitudes toward science; (5) creativity; (6) mainstreaming and the science teacher; (7) a laboratory approach to elementary science; (8) the effectiveness of student experiments in biology teaching; (9) a new method for testing the learning of chemical concepts in secondary schools; (10) branching tests and diagnostic tests in chemistry; and (11) a problem-oriented audiovisual teaching unit for chemistry students.
