People, corporations and government are all responsible for the state of the environment and for their contributions to its care. If government and institutions are to be held accountable, then so must individuals. This book provides a brief glimpse into some of the world's environmental dilemmas. Clearly, the planet is in peril, and the blame for its destruction rests squarely on the shoulders of each and every person who contributes to the problem. Fortunately, much of the present situation is not irreversible. Most of this book focuses on ways to help contribute to the solutions to these dilemmas. This book is divided into chapters corresponding to typical human activities. Chapters are included on home, garden, supermarket, school, office, and community activities. Special sections for renters and apartment dwellers and for taking environmentally-friendly vacations have been included.
