Issues in Pupil Transportation.

The primary purpose of this book is to present the critical issues in pupil transportation that will confront pupil transportation supervisors in local school districts. The following issues are discussed: (1) demands for extended service from community pressure groups; (2) reductions in budget requests by governing bodies; (3) unrest among driver personnel; (4) declines in the purchasing power of tax dollars; (5) rapid turnover among school bus drivers; (6) increases in the number of on-board disciplinary problems; (7) the National Safety Program Standard 17; (8) school bus accident reports; (9) transporting the handicapped child; and (10) evaluation of the seat belt issue.
