This college text is designed for use in instructing basic concepts of health education to elementary education majors. The text is divided into five sections: (1) the goal of health education; (2) the people involved (teachers, pupils); (3) the subject areas (human body, sustenance, disease and environment, safety, health care, living groups, mental health, human sexuality, psychoactive substances); (4) the plan (curriculum structure, curriculum planning, program development); and (5) the process (teaching strategies, evaluation).
