Forestry in Agricultural Education in Virginia.

This publication is designed to support competency-based instruction in the sections of Natural Resources Management courses in Virginia devoted to forestry. It should be coordinated with both the "Task Analyses for Natural Resources Management" and the "Agricultural Education Service Area Resource." This guide contains 16 units, representing an expansion of the tasks/competencies identified in the natural resources task analyses guide. Each unit consists of a task analysis and a suggested lesson plan. The unit task analyses contain the following: one or more performance objectives that identify the competency to be achieved, the minimum standard of achievement, and the conditions under which the performance will be evaluated; enabling objectives; a criterion-referenced measure for each performance objective; and suggested instructional activities, audiovisual materials, and references. The suggested lesson plan is based on the task analysis and is presented in outline form, with four major sections: preparation, presentation, application, and evaluation. A bibliography and resource list providing 97 citations is provided. (KC)
