Institute of International Education
The "Spring 2022 Snapshot on International Educational Exchange" continues the commitment of the Institute of International Education (IIE) to map the effects of key current events, especially the COVID-19 pandemic, on international educational exchange to and from the United States. This "Snapshot on International Educational Exchange" highlights the focus on in-person student mobility to and from the United States and support to current and prospective international students affected by COVID-19 and the Ukraine crisis. Key findings include: (1) Most international students are studying in person on U.S. campuses in spring 2022; (2) U.S. colleges and universities are supporting international students during the Ukraine crisis; (3) International student applications continue to increase; and (4) In-person study abroad rebounds.
