This collection of references and research findings was initially compiled in connection with a conference on the "Linguistic Needs of West Indian Children." The first section includes research reviews and critiques. The second section includes research on the following subjects: (1) ability; (2) attainment/achievement; (3) attitudes, racial awareness, and friendship patterns; (4) behavior disturbance in schools; (5) behavior disturbance in clinics; (6) behavior disturbance in Community Home Schools; (7) school curriculum and teachers; (8) social and cultural background of Caribbean migrants. Section three is a bibliography on education in the Caribbean, and Section four is a description of conclusions reached in five American studies on race and education. (RLV)
