Faculty members at fifteen small to mid-sized colleges of business in Texas were surveyed to determine their views and experiences regarding publishing academic journal articles with multiple authors. Respondents indicated that the AACSB scholarly productivity standards have had an impact on their publication efforts and that they have published journal articles with co-authors. The main reasons for co-authoring were to work with someone from the same discipline for broader coverage or the need to add a person to a project who had knowledge from another discipline. Thirty-six percent of the respondents reported working with another author who had done very little work on a publication, and 18.5% cited working with co-authors who actually contributed nothing towards the effort to publish an article. A majority of the respondents indicated that the person doing the most work should be identified as the first author. (Contains 5 tables.)
